Porter’s reputation for hating haircuts didn’t let us down. Another traumatic haircut.

After the ride, we decided to finally get Porter’s haircut, He was acting tired and cranky so we figured we may as well since he was already in a bad mood. We had to wait about an hour for the haircut, so we went for a walk in downtown San Rafael. We let Porter lead and he steered us directly to Boyd Park, which we hadn’t been to for several months. How he knew how to get there remains a mystery.

Porter started a game where he would run as fast as he could toward me sitting in the grass and knock me over and hug me. This is stage one, just before I get knocked over.

Porter had another chance to go riding Saturday morning and he was thrilled as soon as we pulled up to the ranch. He practically ran out of the car and immediately went looking for a helmet, which he knew he’d have to wear in order to ride a horse. Luckily, he got Poppy again and had a terrific time.
