From the Moon, Alice

Celebrating 2008, The Year of Invisible Posts — It’s Not Your Eyes
Welcome to the Brookston family blog. We'll post updates here on what's going on in our part of the world, and especially with our son, Porter, who has been diagnosed with some form of autism. Our hope is that this blog will help us deal with all the issues we'll be facing and keep our friends and family informed as well.

Today is the last day of a five-day course of anti-biotics Porter is taking for his ear infection. Usually, he balks at taking medicine. Sometimes it’s just reluctance other times sheer terror. This time, however, we’ve been able to have him understand that the medicine is to help his ear from hurting and he’s taken it almost gladly. He’s gotten the correlation between the medicine and his ear feeling better which is huge for us. That he’s now able to tell us when he’s hurting is a great leap forward for Porter, and us.
Today we will set out in the Honda for Californy. Our route today should take us through the Texas panhandle and into New Mexico.
NOTE: This post will be updated upon our return.
