About Us

Welcome to the Brookston family blog. We'll post updates here on what's going on in our part of the world, and especially with our son, Porter, who has been diagnosed with some form of autism. Our hope is that this blog will help us deal with all the issues we'll be facing and keep our friends and family informed as well.

Sarah’s Christmas Party

Categories: Events, Photos, Porter, Alice, J, Sarah — J @ 10:00 pm

Sarah’s office Christmas Party was held on the top floor of a swanky San Francisco hotel right off of Union Square. The kids were happily downstairs on their own (see previous post) while the adults drank and feasted the night away.

After the yummy dinner, we got the kids and brought them upstairs for a little dancing. Alice was already asleep when we got downstairs, and here she’s having some trouble waking up.

Christmas Party Child Care

Categories: Photos, Porter, Alice — J @ 6:31 pm

Sarah’s office xmas party was tonight and they had childcare set up in one of the rooms on the second floor, while the party itself was taking place on the 32nd. For the kids they had pizza, chicken and ice cream along with movies to watch, crayons and coloring books and more. We also took toys for the kids so they were pretty well-stocked.

Wearing Under Where?

Categories: Photos, Humor, Alice — J @ 10:27 am

This should really be filed under bizarre mysteries of the universe, beacause it defies all reason. For some reason, Alice stole a pair of Sarah’s underwear (okay, that’s weird enough) and then then put them on like a backpack. Why, you may ask? Seems like a reasonable question. Unfortunately I have no earthly idea. I don’t even know how she managed to get it on like that.

Morning Complaints

Categories: Photos, Porter — J @ 9:07 am

The house was a little chilly this morning so Porter wore his warm flannel shuttle pajamas. The kids took turns picking videos to watch. Porter kept choosing “I Love Toy Train” videos while Alice was all Wiggles, all the time. Neither was particularly happy when it was the other’s turn.

It’s not Alice’s turn. It’s my turn!
