Alice was a little overtired and fussy when I got back from the tasting. I tried to comfort her by picking her up and flying her around the room. I’m not sure if it worked, but she was calm enough at least to have her photo taken by me.

I spent the afternoon at the Celebrator offices in Hayward tasting Double IPAs and Stouts for the next issue. It’s hard to imagine a more pleasant way to spend a few hours.

Last night in the bathtub, Porter was trying to squirt me with the plastic tube from his pirate ship cannon that’s used to shoot water out of the cannon. He never did hit me but he did manage to shoot a few columns of water into the air.

While Alice was playing on the green bench (see previous post), Porter wanted to go in the bar. He kept asking and asking so finally I relented. He immediately sidled up to the last bar stool and hopped up on. You could almost hear his cries of “barkeep, barkeep!”

After we picked up Porter at Montessori yesterday, we had a little over an hour before Sarah would arrive on the ferry. I took the kids to the shopping center on the other side of the highway, but we could only spend so much time in another toy store. So I decided to pick up dinner at Chevy’s, a Mexican restaurant chain. While we waited, Alice took a shine to a green bench in the waiting area.
