Happy All Fool’s Day
What did you do for All Fool’s Day this year? A big party? Exchange gifts? Perhaps a quick weekend getaway to some exotic locale to celebrate? That would be foolish, you say? Exactly. Given all the fools in the world, myself included, it’s a wonder this isn’t a bigger holiday. I’m sure it’s not Hallmark holding it back. One of my favorite quotes is about fools:

Strawberry Lounging
Alice continued her love affair with strawberries Friday morning as she lounged on the sofa, drunk on fruity goodness.
When Porter woke up on Friday, his first morning with Melman, his new pet giraffe, he was quite insistent about what Melman wanted for breakfast. Porter ordered hot dogs, ketchup, vegetables and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for Melna’s breakfast.
Snow in Marin!
Oh my goodness, I just looked out the window and it’s snowing here in Marin. The flakes are pretty small right now but it’s pretty freaking amazing. I’ve lived in California over twenty years and this is the first time I’ve seen it snow (not counting trips to Tahoe).
Back on St. Patrick’s Day, they had a little party at Porter’s Montessori and I guess they took pictures during the party. Because a couple of weeks later, when I picked him up from there, Porter had two photographs of himself from the party. He was very proud of the pictures, and kept showing them to me and telling me it was Porter. “That’s me.” He’d say, and point excitedly to the pictures. He carried them around with him for the next twenty-four hours, showing them to Sarah and me over and over again, almost like a proud parent showing off photos of his kids.
