Porter’s Grandma got him the Garfield DVD movie last week. And despite Bill Murray being the voice of the cat, it makes the Thomas the Tank Engine movie look like an Ingmar Bergman flick. But Porter just loves it. We picked up cat and dog animal toys recently and he’s named them Garfield and Odie. I’ve seen the Garfield movie in its entirety today … twice. I think I’m ready now to embrace blindness and deafness as a lifestyle.

Our friends Emily and Dan, who live in Los Angeles, just bought their first house up in the hills near the Getty Museum. Here are a few photos of their new digs. Congratulations on their new home.

Alice has also quickly embraced the Easter tradition of the egg hunt. She joined in the search for the thirty eggs that I hid around the playroom and solarium at the kids’ grandparent’s house.

“Look out eggs, here I come.”

“I found three!”

“I’ll put them here in my basket.”

“Look, there’s a orange one on this bookshelf!”

“Here’s two more.”

“For my basket.”

“Ta da! I found the last two.“

Easter also brought another opportunity for Alice to practice the piano, something she seems to do every chance she gets. If she sees a piano, she has to play it.

Alice sat down to play.

And sounded out a few notes.

Before allowing Porter to play a duet with her.

The other Easter tradition that Porter seems to love is the egg hunt. So I hid thirty eggs around the playroom and solarium at the kids’ grandparent’s house. Alice and Porter went in search of the hidden colored eggs.

“Look out eggs, here I come.”

“I found one!”

“And another one.”

“Look, there’s a blue one under this bridge!”

“Boy I’m good at this.”

“Hey, there’s a crack in this one.“
