Snoopy Airport
Okay, technically it’s not really the Snoopy Airport but since he’s the only Peanuts character who flew planes, it might as well be. Porter’s been bugging us non-stop to go again to the airport and especially to see jets. None of that propeller nonsense for him. He “feels the need … the need for speed.” So his grandparents took him to the Charles M. Schulz Airport (fka the Sonoma County Airport), which is also the location of the Sonoma Jet Center. Unfortunately, there weren’t any scheduled flights when they were there but they did have an extensive gift shop, which seemed to be an adequate substitute. When he got home, Porter literally carried upstairs a box as big as he is full of airplanes, books and a snoopy pilot doll.
