During a trip to Lake Tahoe over Memorial weekend, we hiked to the misnamed Eagle Falls. There were no eagles, but plenty of Stellar's Jays. I've always liked Jays, especially blue jays which were in abundance where I grew up in Pennsylvania. Of course, being my namesake may have something to do with that. But they're not native to California so I've had to get my jay fix through other varieties.
